Bulgaria remains an attractive option for property investment, it has been claimed.

Despite the economic troubles that have hit much of the world over recent months, Shelter Offshore has suggested that Bulgaria property can still provide property investors with a good place to put their money.

Speaking specifically about Sofia, the online service said: "We feel there are now some fundamental foundations upon which a solid investment purchase can be made."

As well as its position as a new member of the European Union, the article pointed out that Bulgaria "stands out as offering better value for money for investors in many different sectors who are buying in pounds sterling".

Meanwhile, the country has a good track record of bringing in major international firms to develop regional hubs in the country, with the likes of Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, IBM and GlaxoSmithKline all having important offices there.

A recent report from the Sofia Echo revealed that the country is ripe for property investment, with one in every five properties currently on the market.
