Overseas property investors keen on getting on to the holiday home market abroad may be interested to hear that Dubai has been named the world's best holiday destination and the leading cruise port.
The accolade was clinched at the final World Travel Awards ceremony of the year, which was held on the Turks and Caicos Islands on December 2nd.
Some 167,000 travel professionals worldwide contributed to the vote that propelled the Middle Eastern property hotspot to the top, which may attract more people to the region.
The news comes as it emerged that residential property prices in Dubai are still rising with a five per cent increase in value registered in the three months to September, according to Colliers International.
However, this rise may level out in coming months as the credit crunch has affected some overseas investors from western nations, who are finding it difficult to obtain loans due to tightened lending.
