The areas of Egypt that appeal to people looking to purchase a home, possibly including those intending to
buy investment property, are broadening, an expert has said.
According to Paul Collins, the property editor of BuyAssociation, while the main focus of the country's property market remains the Red Sea resorts, other cities are "coming the fore" now as well.
He stated: "You even look to the Mediterranean coast. There are places like Alexandria, which is beginning to develop as a holiday resort and is quite popular with Egyptians, and the international resorts tend to follow on from that."
Meanwhile, Sharm El Sheikh is the most popular location, while Hurghada is another "really popular" place, Mr Collins added.
There are a number of rules when it comes to buying property in Egypt and the purchase must have the approval of the Council of Ministers, a process which can take around two months.
