Overseas property investors should be turning their attention to Turkey if they expect to benefit from a property boom expected to take place next year.

The country's property market is set to benefit in 2010 with those buying for investment purposes likely to turn out tops, according to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet.

"Private investors can consider aiming for investment property to rent out to the tourism market," the newspaper states, adding that 2010 to 2012 will represent "the next set of golden years for Turkey's real estate market".

The news comes in the wake of last week's announcement by the country's tourism minister Ertugrul Gunay that a ten per cent rise in tourism is expected this year.

Property investment potential in the country has been receiving thumbs up in recent weeks with the Sun describing Turkey as "a safe bet among homemakers" and one of the best non-EU destinations for expatriate property buyers.ADNFCR-1548-ID-18988761-ADNFCR
