New mortgages to ease monthly payments

UK Mortgages

Two new mortgages have been launched by the Yorkshire Building Society in a bid to bring some relief to overburdened property investors.

The company announced the mortgages which are to be available from next week are targeted at borrowers who want to fix their monthly mortgage payments as low as possible.

According to Tom Girling, Yorkshire Building Society's product manager for mortgages, the products have been launched due to the ever rising mortgage rates which make it difficult for many to afford their mortgage payments.

He said: "These new products have been designed to help borrowers manage their monthly budgets and at the same time provide peace of mind from the security that their payments won't change during the term they have chosen."

The mortgages are available for both house purchase or re-mortgage customers and will offer a fixed rate for either two or five years.

More than 1.4 million borrowers may be hit with more expensive mortgage bills once their fixed-rate mortgages come to an end this year, according to the Telegraph.
