Investing in a holiday home or
buy to let mortgages in the Isle of Wight could be beneficial to property investors in the future after it was revealed the island will have the lowest carbon footprint in England by the year 2020.
According to a spokesperson for Islandbreaks.co.uk the official Isle of Wight tourism site, a number of steps have been put in place to achieve this including renewing the island's infrastructure to the highest ecological standards.
She explained the Island Strategic Partnership's (ISP) vision to make the Isle of Wight "a world renowned eco-island, with a thriving economy, a real sense of pride and where residents and visitors enjoy healthy lives, feel safe and are treated with respect."
Among other benchmarks set for 2020 by the island are the development of new sectors of employment, creation of a centre of excellence in renewable energies and generating capacity of over 100Mw of electricity.
With carbon awareness increasing in the UK, buying property in a location with a low carbon footprint could be a wise investment.
